Why choose Solar PV?

Solar is a clean, green energy source that helps reduce your carbon footprint. Unlike fossil fields, solar is environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Utility prices continue to soar, and solar allows you to save money on your electricity bill. In addition, solar power helps you become independent from energy providers when combined with battery storage.

Solar panel systems are durable and can provide stable power to your home without loss of power.

At Vomax Energy, we provide professional Solar PV installation to homes and businesses across Suffolk and Essex. Our aim is to help you implement sustainable, energy-efficient systems that help save money on your energy bills.

    How do solar panels work?

Solar photovoltaic panels are made up of cells made of silicon. When light hits the silicon cells, electricity is created.

Solar PV systems consist of multiple panels that generate DC electricity. The DC (direct current) is converted to AC (alternating current) and can be used to power your home.

Solar energy has the potential to meet all future energy needs as opposed to fossil fuels which are limited by supply and have adverse impacts on the environment.

    Funding for Solar PV

The government introduced the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) in January 2020. The initiative required SED licensees (electricity suppliers) to pay small-scale generators for surplus low-carbon electricity which they export back to the National Grid.

There is currently 0% VAT for solar panels installed in homes until March 2027.

    Older Solar PV Schemes

The Feed-in Tariff scheme closed to new applicants on 1 April 2019 (with some exceptions). The FIT scheme was introduced to promote renewable energy. The scheme required participating electricity suppliers to pay for electricity generated and exported by accredited installations.

    Energy Saving Solar Installation

At Vomax Energy, we pride ourselves on being experts in renewable energy. Our solar technicians will work with you to design, plan and install a PV system that meets your energy needs. We provide peace of mind by delivering clean and reliable energy systems to power your home.

    The Design Process

Before beginning any installation, our technicians will conduct a site visit to determine suitability. We will assess your roof to determine how effective your system will be. A south-facing roof is ideal for a solar installation and will provide you with the most electricity.

East and west-facing roofs will still be a good foundation for solar panels, providing significant energy throughout the day. North-facing roofs are rarely a good solar option due to the low direct sunlight. Your inverter will require a small amount of space within your attic. However, they are typically the size of a microwave oven, so little space is needed.

A 10 to 60-degree pitch is suitable for most solar PV installs, with 35 to 40 degrees being the most efficient. For homeowners with a flat roof, we can mount your panels at an angle to improve efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions about Air Conditioning Systems

We are always happy to offer expert advice and guidance to our customers. As a result, we’ve been asked a lot of questions about AC systems. Below you can find answers to some of the most popular questions we’ve been asked.

Solar panels are suitable for the climate here in the UK. Solar panels generate electricity even on overcast days. In contrast, the exceptionally high temperatures abroad can interfere with the solar cells reducing the electricity output.

Planning permission is rarely required for solar installations. However, if you live in a listed building or a conservation area, you will need planning permission from your local authority. Our installers will help you establish whether you require planning permission.

The number of solar panels you need will depend on your home’s energy. Our technicians will help you establish your electricity requirements and recommend an appropriate system. Fill out the form above and we will be in touch for a no obligation chat.
